Hello, I’m Don Veitch, I’ve been a commercial artist since 1995. I’ve worked on a wide range of Illustration, Design and Web Design projects with more than 70 clients.
I graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and have more than 25 years experience as an illustrator and designer. Specializing in editorial and book illustration, I utilizes both traditional or digital media.
I’m also a Command Sergeant Major in the Massachusetts National Guard. My current assignment is as Sergeant Major, 65th Press Camp Headquarters.
Artist & Soldier don’t seem to go together. I’ve often heard that, now more so. I happen to do both; it seems a good fit for me. I have worked as a professional Artist since 1995, and a Soldier far longer than that. That I’m able to do both at the same time has made for a very interesting life.
As an artist, I’m blessed to have the best job in the world. Don’t agree? How many times have you heard someone say, “I wish I couldn’t draw?”
As a soldier, I’ve had a good career and done some exciting stuff. I’ve been over the “pond” for a tour of duty in Iraq. Worked with some great people and seen some amazing places; Paraguay, Germany, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Senegal to name a few.
